  • Commitment to the completion of the project with flexibility in its execution.
  • Great with people including experience of mentoring and developing others.

Turnaround executives are normally available on a full time but temporary basis. In many cases, however, especially where there are cash constraints or when the issues are not immediately life threatening, an independent executive can operate on a part time basis e.g. Chairman or in a specific advisory, observer or mentoring/support role.

PILOTpartners also supports stakeholders requiring an experienced, independent pair of eyes “to have a quick look at a business” where, for example, underperformance or working capital issues are worsening and/or as a condition of further lending or other financial support.

Many of our most challenging assignments are ‘Quick Fixes’ where seemingly intractable problems can be resolved readily by an experienced CRO or Turnaround Leader by, for example, producing accurate cash flows and forecasts, sorting out onerous leases, managing cost reduction projects or releasing cash through improving working capital.

Uniquely, PILOTpartners also manages specialist turnaround panels on behalf of the restructuring departments of major accounting firms.

The PILOTpartners team have many years’ experience recruiting senior executives for private equity owned portfolio businesses – large & small, UK & internationally located, in every sector, interim, permanent, non-executive, experiencing growth or decline. We truly understand the complexities and special demands of the sector as do the executives we introduce to our clients.

We are often asked to resource executives from our network as consultants for early or later stage commercial due diligence projects. The requests are likely to come from potential investors or from advisers as part of the wider service they are providing pre-completion.

Often these opportunities are outside the UK in which case we are able to marshal the extensive networks of our partner firms in Europe and further afield.

Executives are also assigned for perhaps only a few days through PILOTpartners to investigate specific issues in a prospective or existing investment or lending situation.

Investors can rely on PILOTpartners for premium level commercial due diligence support.

Invariably the requirement is for an executive with extensive experience in a specific sector or sub-sector. PILOTpartners’s network is structured so that a search is complete within a few days (sometimes within 24 hours) although miracles can take a bit longer! Executives are available very quickly when the timing of the due diligence report is of the essence in the deal process. Many executives with experience of due diligence projects make themselves available, for example, as non-executives for the business upon completion.
